DATA & SECURITY

Your business data remains yours.

The ownership line

Clients retain ownership of their business data, customer information, accounts, websites, content, files, and other materials they provide or authorize Hometown Demand to access (“Client Materials”). Hometown Demand does not claim ownership of Client Materials. The client grants only the limited permission needed to provide, secure, support, and document the agreed service.

Hometown Demand retains ownership of its pre-existing software, internal prompts, methods, templates, workflows, scoring systems, generalized knowledge, and operating system. Ownership or licensing of a custom deliverable is stated in the applicable written service agreement. Client Materials are not converted into Hometown Demand property merely because they pass through our workflow.

Information the audit form collects

The form collects your first and last name, business name, business website, primary service area, and reply email. A request reference, workflow status, and submission time are also recorded. Do not submit passwords, recovery codes, payment-card details, protected health information, or other sensitive personal information.

How we use it

We use this information to review the business’s public customer journey, evaluate service fit, prepare an assessment, answer related questions, prevent duplicate requests, provide and secure an agreed service, and maintain an operating record. We do not sell client or prospect information or use it for unrelated advertising.

Private audit and enrollment records

Private audit links use a random, time-limited access token. Enrollment requests record the selected plan, business identity, contact information, service area, authority confirmation, and scope acknowledgements. Submitting enrollment does not charge a card or begin a paid engagement.

Client workspace identity

Each authorized person uses an individual passwordless account. Sign-in links are short-lived and single-use; successful sign-in creates a protected, revocable session. We store the person’s name, email, workspace username, role, invitation and access status, and the activity needed to secure and operate the account. We do not receive or store an account password. Client operating records may include approved business facts, queues, work history, evidence, billing status, approval boundaries, and team-access history.

Security measures

Our baseline is data minimization and least privilege. We collect only information needed for a defined purpose; restrict operating records to authorized access; use delegated roles or approved connections where platforms support them; keep secrets out of public website code; protect data in transit and at rest through the safeguards provided by our hosting and approved service providers; maintain approval boundaries and activity records; and remove access when it is no longer needed. We do not ask clients to email passwords, recovery codes, payment-card details, or sensitive personal information.

We review foreseeable risks, the services that process information for us, and the effectiveness of key controls as the system changes. Suspected security incidents are contained, documented, investigated, and escalated. If an incident triggers a legal or contractual notification duty, affected parties will be notified as required. No online system can guarantee absolute security, and we do not claim a security certification that we have not earned.

Storage and service providers

The website, operating database, company mailbox, identity service, and any approved client connections may be handled by service providers that host, secure, or transmit the information needed for the service. Providers receive only the access appropriate to their function and are reviewed before a materially new data use is activated. Current provider categories and material changes can be requested at the contact address below.

Access, correction, export, and deletion

Workspace owners can download a structured account record and submit a time-stamped correction, cancellation, or deletion request from the dashboard. Requests may also be sent to hello@hometowndemand.com. We verify the requester’s identity, role, and authority before acting. Workspace owners and admins can invite teammates and revoke their access; revocation closes active sessions and unused invitations. At the end of a paid service, Hometown Demand removes its account access and returns or deletes controlled copies of Client Materials according to the written agreement.

Retention

Prospect request records are generally retained for up to 12 months unless they become part of an active client relationship, must be kept for a legitimate business or legal reason, or you request deletion sooner. Client records are retained only while needed to provide the service and for documented legal, tax, transaction, fraud-prevention, security, backup, or dispute purposes. Backup copies may remain for a limited period until overwritten through the ordinary backup cycle.

What the inquiry and sales agents record

The website’s General Inquiry Agent and Sales Agent use a controlled Hometown Demand knowledge base to answer questions about the service. Submitted questions are sent to Hometown Demand and retained for up to 90 days so recurring questions, unanswered topics, buying signals, and potential product improvements can be reviewed. The record includes a redacted question, topic category, responding agent, answer category, outcome, commercial-signal level, and submission time. It does not include an IP address, advertising identifier, or cross-site tracking profile. Email addresses, website addresses, phone-like numbers, and suspected sensitive information are removed or withheld before the question is stored. Do not submit passwords, payment details, health information, or other sensitive information.

How question trends are used

Question records may be grouped into aggregate patterns—for example, repeated questions about pricing, fit, onboarding, results, or custom agents—to improve explanations, identify possible service demand, and review whether the website or offer should change. Hometown Demand does not automatically change a client’s service, charge a visitor, or make a consequential decision from these signals.

What the enrollment request does

The enrollment request stores the selected service level, business contact details, and required acknowledgements so compatibility, payment, and final service acceptance can be completed in writing. It does not collect card information or begin work.

If you email us

Information you send to hello@hometowndemand.com is processed through the company mailbox so we can answer your request and evaluate fit. Do not email passwords, recovery codes, payment-card details, or sensitive personal information.

Changes to this website

This information will be updated before online payments, analytics, materially different identity providers, or materially different data practices are activated. Questions or privacy requests can be sent to the email address above.

Competitive Watch records

When a client purchases Competitive Watch, we store the client-approved competitor names, market, public target addresses, check times, public-page snapshots, detected changes, quality-review decisions, and resulting work records. We do not seek access to competitors’ private accounts or systems, and the service is prohibited from using confidential information or trade secrets. These records are included in the client’s account export and handled under the same access, retention, and deletion controls described above.
